Our client in Spring Branch, TX, reached out to us looking to upgrade their property. Not only did they want fresh landscaping in the front of their house, but they also wanted to install a patio where they could eat meals and spend time outside. We used flagstone to build the patio so it blends in with its natural surroundings. Large pieces of stone were also used to construct walkways that connect different areas of their property. We also worked with them to design their landscape, complete with rocks, plants, and dry creek beds throughout to control water flow. The final step of this outdoor living project was to install landscape lighting in the backyard, allowing them to enjoy their newly updated space even at night!
This Outdoor Living Project Included the Installation of a Flagstone Patio & Walkways
Our client wanted an outdoor living space harmonious with its natural surroundings, yet allowed them to host, enjoy meals, and spend time outside. So, this project included the installation of a beautiful flagstone patio. We used large, uniquely cut flagstones that emulate natural, rustic beauty, with small, dark-colored rocks within the cracks. The same pieces of stone were used to build walkways that connect different areas in the backyard, ensuring safe, easy access for our client.
Plants, Rocks & Dry Creek Beds Were Added Throughout Our Client's Property
Once the large outdoor living features were complete, our crew moved on to adding the decorative elements throughout our client's property. For the front yard, we created a unique landscape design that incorporates rocks, boulders, mulch, plants, and dry creek beds. Boulders were used to border different landscape beds and separate them from the creek beds. White-colored rocks filled the front landscaping along the road, which we contrasted with dark-colored ones in smaller beds. Then, we installed earthy-toned rocks in varying sizes to serve as the dry creek bed that separates the back landscape beds from the front. The same dark-colored rocks, as well as mulch, were used for these beds, along with visually striking boulders and small plants for pops of greenery. We also updated the softscapes along the front of their house with lush plants. This eye-catching design brings dimension, texture, and depth, significantly boosting their curb appeal.
In addition to the front yard, we also incorporated various landscaping elements into their back outdoor living space. We lined the walkway leading to the patio with a dry creek bed for proper drainage and added small flowers and plants in a mulch bed. Additional greenery was incorporated throughout to achieve a cohesive, natural appearance.
We Completed This Project With Landscape Lighting
The last step of this comprehensive outdoor living project was to install landscape lighting in our client's backyard! We strategically placed light fixtures throughout the landscape beds and in the trees to illuminate their patio and walkways, ensuring they can safely navigate the area at night. High-quality LEDs were used, as they're highly durable, energy-efficient, and long-lasting, to maximize their investment. Finally, they now have a stunning front landscape and a functional outdoor living space that harmonizes with natural elements and suits their lifestyle.
