We had a client in Garden Ridge, TX, with a large backyard, and they wanted to build multiple outdoor living areas to maximize its function. For this project, our team created a space at the far side of their property, which included a small, raised patio with steps and a fire pit where they can sit and enjoy fireside warmth. We also installed a long dry creek bed with a bridge over it to lead to the raised patio. Then, landscape lighting was added to finish this project, keeping the area illuminated at night so our client can safely and easily navigate there.

Our client's large backyard has a lot of space to work with, but we focused on one side of the property where they wanted to create a small gathering spot. To do this, we installed a circular raised patio with steps. This patio was constructed from unique stones, primarily light-colored and contrasted with darker-colored accents to achieve a unique, eye-catching aesthetic. Then, in the center of the patio, we built a fire pit from the same materials to ensure cohesion between these features. The fire pit complements the patio perfectly, providing an area where they can spend time by the fire.
A bridge was built over a dry creek bed to lead to the raised patio.
We wanted to ensure proper drainage on our client's property, so we installed a large dry creek bed that extends from the front of the house to the back, complete with varying-sized stones. That way, water can flow through the creek bed and away from their land. However, this separated the raised patio from their other outdoor living area. To make it easy to access, we built a bridge over the dry creek bed. This bridge is made from the same materials as the raised patio so that it matches the aesthetic our client wanted to achieve for this space. Not only that, but it also makes it stand out, turning it into a functional focal point! Additionally, stone steps were used to connect the bridge to their pool area, making it safer and more convenient to get to.
The final step of this project was to add landscape lighting.
After completing all the main features of this outdoor living project, the final step was to add landscape lighting! We installed high-quality lighting fixtures along the path and steps leading to the raised patio from the bridge to keep it illuminated once the sun goes down. This addition makes it safer and easier for our client to get to this area, allowing them to enjoy it even at night. With everything finished, they now have a charming space perfect for spending a quiet day outside or hanging out by the fire with others.
